This sort of abuse is so devastating....it colors the outcome of your entire life. No child can emotionally or mentally deal with rape let alone the obvious result, in this case. Personally, I'd start out with removing small body parts.... and making the perpetrator eat them....slowly devour themselves til they die. I harbor a small amount of rage....

I hope this child will be okay and that the baby will stay healthy. There is more to the story. Is this part of their custom? Was the man responsible a member of their tribe? Or was he an outsider? The article said that the tribe has had contact with other people. I would like to know more.

We need to wake up..These poor children are being robbed of their childhood becasue men cant control their danm dicks!!! Its sick !!! I have a 9 yr old and I cried until I had no more tears, I held my child and tried to think, "WHO?WHY?And HOW could someone hurt somethign so precious? With the mother of this child not speaking out on this, I comew to the conclusion that it was authorized by her. That poor child has just seen then beginning of men hurting her, she may be lost forever..

This is the 21st Century. Culture or no Culture, I have never heard of Brazilian females having babies at the age of 9 years. This is not the rule. This is the exception. How many Brazilian females have babies at this age. very very few. Something is terribly wrong here, and with all the information,counselling, and charitable organizations that reach out to Native peoples, all around the world, there is no reason for an innocent little girl to be having a baby. Furthermore, I'd be interested in knowing if anyone counselled her about "abortion"...She was entitled to have one. Why, in the 21st century, should a "child be subjected to having a child"???? Especially as she was not the "wife" of the Man who impregnated her......

If it was willing, then we can't do anything. Yes it is the woman's job to continue the human race, (Even if there's enough humans already in my oppinion.), but if she give's birth at a age that young, she could have damaged her body severly.
